In this meetup, you'll learn about the best camera settings for nighttime photography. We'll also explore the kinds of light available to us and how to use that light to make some awesome photos. As always, there are exercises that will help you put your new knowledge to work.

You can get your own images and have set of three 15 mins challenges to edit during the session and get practical guidance and easy ways to edit.

The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will explore how to recognise flattering light and how to manipulate it whilst shooting in a less controlled environment than a studio. Technical learning points will include accurate focusing and metering for skin tones.

Included are: shooting different body types, men, women and shooting with strong sunlight and shooting in shade, and designing your background (composition). On this meet,up you are encouraged to bring along family or friends as models.
You will preferably need a normal, 85mm or longer lens, or a zoom. If you have a wide-angle this can also be used as we will be also looking at environmental portraits.
This is the perfect meetup to learn how to take the perfect portraits of family and friends.
